Nationwide Ghibli Fest, Last Weekend - Big Eyes!

CLick now! Nationwide Ghibli Fest, Last Weekend - Big Eyes!

Read the full article on AICN

Hey geeks, Big Eyes here, reporting that there is one last wave of a nationwide Ghibli Fest presented by Fathom Events and GKIDS, coming up the Suday after Thanksgiving! November 26, 27, and 29. So after you eat your leftover Turkey sandwiches, with mashed potatoes, and steal a slice of pie--because Thanksgiving leftovers is a traditional American burden--you should head on down to the theater to catch a dub of “Howl’s Moving Castle”! I know some of you guys may be butthurt that I wasn't reporting on the whole event earlier in the year, couldn't do that because I hadn't started writing here yet!
This event also features the GKIDS MINIFEST, an ongoing festival of award-winning short animated films from around the world, as part of the exclusive event experience.

“Howl’s Moving Castle” is one of my favorite Miyazaki films. It was an excellent theater experience. Funny enough, I had actually just finished watching it again two days before this story was brought to my attention. “Howl’s Moving Castle” has some amazing visuals, with a moving story, I’ll admit though, I’m not a huge fan of the dub. Some of the voice acting is weird and some of the story is literally lost in translation, trying to make English words fit in Japanese mouthings.

The young selfish wizard Howl is voiced by Christian Bale. Hogawd, Hu-hwut. I think I blocked that from my memory at some point after 2004. Billy Crystal is in this too as Calcifer, the fire.

Hariri to Return to Lebanon
Iran,Saudi Arabia, Sunni, Shia, Lebanon,Hezbollah,Syria,Hariri,
Lebanese PM Saad Hariri has said he will return to Beirut in the coming days, and will then clarify his shock decision to resign. He quit two weeks ago during a visit to Saudi Arabia, but President Michel Aoun refused to accept the resignation. Mr Hariri denied being held in Riyadh against his will, amid speculation the Saudis had forced him to quit as part of a regional power struggle with Iran.

Welcome to World War III

Sally Forth: You Should Be Dancing

Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who stayed with us throughout this story. I know it was not the most pleasant or humorous we have done and I greatly appreciate all your extremely kind words and encouragement.

Thank you to all who shared their own family stories, on Facebook and in email, creating a community of great heart, openness, and support. You are the ones who made this so much more than a series of comics and you helped me in more ways than I can count with my own healing process.

Thank you to my girlfriend Stacey, who encouraged me every step of the writing process and has always been there for me.

A huge THANK YOU to Jim Keefe. You made this possible. You drew every panel with quiet dignity, every strip with genuine warmth and humanity, and all of Sally Forth with a remarkable visual acuity that makes every character a person and every scene a reality. You did not repeatedly punch me when I wrote “Draw the album cover to Saturday Night Fever.” For all of this I will be always be amazed and grateful.

And thank you Dad, for being there and still being with me.

Now dance.
